Before 1986 |
|
 |
I stared to build my professional career at
the age of fifteen, when I was hired as an air-conditioning
service technician-trainee during summer vacations.
I worked as much as possible during my high
school years, and thereby developed an excellent
understanding of the practical side of the trade.
After graduating from high school, I served
a year in the Finnish Army, graduating as a
Sergeant. During my four college years, not
only did I again work a lot in the field, but
also in the office, doing drafting, planning,
and calculations. This I was able do because
TLH, as a private college, had a very liberal
attendance policy.

As a graduated engineer, I was appointed by
Coolex®
Oy to work in a project sales position.
I worked independently in designing and selling
small to mid-sized air-conditioning and cooling
installations locally, in southern Finland .
I worked closely with local Carrier and Daikin
distributors and learned the 'tricks of the
trade' from them. At this time, I also was co-developing
a patented, heat-recovery system for oil and
gas-heated boilers, called, "EtaMax." |
| |
| 1988
- 1990 |
 |
I was appointed vice-president of sales and
marketing for Coolex®
Oy , charged with handling the international
marketing of several patents to over 10 countries.
My work-description included managing license
agreement negotiations, dealing with patent
disputes, overseeing marketing and technical
product training, as well as providing customer
support for licensees. I developed several unique
technical and economic software models, for
the estimation and simulation of heat-pump technology
performance. |

| 1990
- 1993 |

I was promoted to President of Coolex®
Oy , and became responsible for the
total operation of the company. I opened new
market areas for Coolex®, including the
marketing and sales of large-capacity, water-chiller
projects to customers in Scandinavia . I negotiated
for Coolex® the position as sole distributor
in Finland for several large European and international
AC manufacturers, such as Mitsubishi Electric
( Japan ), Techibel (France), Profroid (France),
and Climaveneta ( Italy ). I built up the Coolex®
dealer network, starting from scratch,
into the third largest on the market. |

to 1998 |

I was appointed to the post of Chairman of the
Board of Coolex®
Oy. From this leadership position,
I further developed Coolex® into an air-conditioning
and cooling-equipment manufacturer, producing
over 200 different products, ranging from 5
kW condensing-units all the way up to 2500 kW
water-chillers. I started Coolex®'s own
in-house production unit, and thereby turned
EtaMax into a highly Successable product. I
participated strongly in the day-to-day work
in all areas of the business, from R&D,
to marketing, sales, and human relations. Most
particularly, I was active in developing and
improving Coolex®'s computer hardware and
software systems, which were of necessity, state-of-the-art.
During this time, I learned to use, and to trust,
outside consultants to help with the business
development process. I used over twenty different,
highly-professional consultants during the years,
and learned a lot from each of them. Thank-you
guys. |

| 1998
to Present |
^ |
 |
I left Coolex®
Oy, and Finland , for a career in
The USA. Thus, I started QXSystems™, an
international Business- and IT - Engineering
firm, specializing in building Virtual Organizations
and related engineering solutions. I became
a regular ASHRAE member in 1998. During the
next years, I found the time to write down the
basics for the Business Engineering process
we call Q X S . In the spring of 2002, I enrolled
in a Masters' program for organizational development,
at The Fielding Graduate Institute, located
in California and finished two OD courses with
honours. After finding out that OMOD was not
enough for me, I enrolled in the spring of 2003
in a MBA program at the very international and
highly appreciated Robert Kennedy Collage of
Switzerland. My present plan is to graduate
from RKC with a MBA degree in the fall of 2004.
After that I will continue to push my educational
career even further. Learning is to me a lifelong
adventure and a passion that I cannot live without.
